Hello ASG!
WOW! Here we are in May and just sending out
a newsletter.
We have been very busy with interesting
hand’s-on learning such as how to make Yarn
Wigs, leather Arm Bracers, Peyote Bead
bracelets, a Renaissance Flat Cap, and a Duct
Tape Body Double just to name a few programs.
There’s been a couple of sew-ins, a road trip and
off-site workshops along with a Costume Exhibit
at our local library. We even had a tailgate
feeding frenzy of fabric and notions. The rest of
2024 promises to be just as exciting.
We attended Sew Expo and walked the runway
as a group entry in the ASG Fashion Show.
A Special thanks to members who participated:
Sue, Cathy and June were Vikings.
NanCee modeled Gryffindor House Robes sewn
by Theresa.
Michelle and a SPS Chapter stand-in (graciously)
modeled his and hers costumes based on the
“Gentleman Class” Dungeons & Dragons
character. Both costumes were sewn by
Michelle.
Julianna modelled a Fairy Godmother costume
made by Jeanne.
Randi modeled a beautiful summer dress and
jacket. Fit for a garden party!
Members were challenged to create a complete
costume to be eligible to enter a drawing for a
cash prize to help with the cost of attending the
ASG National Conference in San Francisco in late
June. Only a few have ever attended Conference.
We also like to have after-meeting-lunches in
and around Olympia. Cosplay PNW is a small
but mighty chapter who enjoys each other’s
company.
Thank you all. You’re the best!
June Scott
2024 Chapter President
